Charlotte COmmunion STUDIO PORTRAITS, EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY & CINEMATOGRAPHY
As a practicing Catholic and Charlotte Communion photographer with over a decade of experience, I consider it an honor and blessing to capture the sacred beauty of your child’s First Holy Communion. I have photographed hundreds of Communion Masses and portrait sessions, each one a deeply meaningful celebration of faith, family, and tradition. At this special point in a child’s spiritual journey, when they can fully participate in the Mass, I find joy in documenting moments, creating beautiful portraits, and capturing the intricate, symbolic details including the chalice, rosary, prayer book, and attire that make this milestone so unique.
“Vanessa is an excellent professional who took care of my daughter's First Communion photos. She isn't only patient but puts love and dedication into every detail of her work. If you're looking for someone with vocation of service and love of her work, Vanessa is the right person.”

Charlotte First Holy Communion Photography FAQs
Can siblings and grandparents be included?
Why should I hire a professional photographer for Holy Communion?
Absolutely. First Communion is a family celebration, and we’re happy to include parents, siblings, and even extended family. We’ll capture both posed portraits and heartfelt candid moments.
First Holy Communion is a sacred and once-in-a-lifetime religious event. My relaxed, confident approach and experience as a Catholic and family photographer allows me to cover this milestone with reverence, joy, and spirit. Working quietly and carefully, I capture photos that are authentic, stunning, and deeply meaningful.
How long does the session take?
Most Communion sessions last 60 minutes to 3 hours, depending on location and how many family members are included. We allow a bit of extra time to connect with children and always take a gentle, patient approach.
When should we schedule the session?
I recommend scheduling your Charlotte First Holy Communion coverage at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance or more, especially during spring when many Communion ceremonies take place. I offer both comprehensive day-of coverage and separate portrait sessions scheduled before or after the event.
What’s included in your pricing?
Our First Holy Communion sessions start at $950 and include the photo session, retouched images in a private online gallery, and options to purchase fine-art prints, albums, and wall art. We also offer keepsake packages perfect for gifts and heirlooms.
Do you offer sessions at the church?
Yes, if your church allows photography. We’re experienced in working respectfully within church guidelines and capturing important moments discreetly. If photography inside the church isn’t permitted, we’ll plan a nearby portrait session that includes meaningful elements of the day.
How long until we receive our photos?
Your online gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks. Once you’ve selected your favorites, we’ll deliver your final retouched images and printed products within 2 months.
What if we want portraits at a different time?
Many families choose to schedule a dedicated portrait session on a separate day, either before or after First Holy Communion. This allows more time, flexibility, and relaxed photos of your child in their Communion attire, with family members included.
What makes your Communion photography unique?
We bring a sense of reverence, artistry, and warmth to every session. With years of experience photographing important religious events, we know how to capture the spirit of this sacred day while making your child feel comfortable, calm, and celebrated.
What should my child wear for the portrait session?
Their Communion dress or suit will be ideal. We’ll give you helpful tips on preparing outfits and accessories, and even how to keep everything clean and photo-ready. Feel free to bring meaningful items like a Bible, rosary, or prayer book.
