I am a daughter, wife, mother of 3 and unbelievably blessed. Being around my family and wanting to preserve every laugh, every day life and every amazing milestone, is what drove me to become a photographer.
Photography has never been a hobby or a job for me. It’s been a way for me to freeze time. I have such great respect for the generations of family that have come before mine and there is nothing more precious than getting a peek into a parent’s life before us and even seeing what our grandparents did in their youth. Therefore, when I create an image I imagine future generations sitting around a table with a cup of coffee, flipping through photographs and reminiscing about where they were that day and how they felt in that moment. I’m not capturing an image; I’m creating a memory.
Unbeknownst to me my first job out of college, where I received a Bachelor of Engineering, would pave the way for who I am today. I started working at Nikon in 1999 as a Product Specialist of Confocal Microscopes. A large part of my responsibility was working with state of the art digital cameras and imaging software. I was immediately hooked on the beautiful images that were created through the microscope and drifted away from the actual hardware that was used to create them. I continued to advance my career in the scientific imaging world for almost 10 years before my first child was born and MAGIC… the most inspirational subject I’d ever laid my eyes on. I was instantly obsessed with preserving his every smile, every step and every quite moment. Soon after I had two more breathtaking lives to capture. As time went on I felt the need to preserve my friend’s lives and their friends until here we are. I hope and would be honored to work with you so that future members of your family tree can see what your life was like today, at this very moment in time.
